Angus was in the wedding party, Ben and Siobhan did the photography and as I said – I took the service. As part of the service Colossians 3:12 - 17 was read. After it was read I gave a short message and here is some of it (modified). There are a couple of institutions... Continue Reading →

For a couple of weeks after Easter, our morning Scripture Union Bible reading notes were leading us through the end of John's gospel. It will never get automated out of existence. It has never come with a job description, KPIs, or operational manuals. Most importantly, it has never come with any decent financial reward... We live in a world where a lot is being expected of us. We all face pressure and stress at some level. Whatever it is that stresses us or puts pressure on us is real to us and effects us. For someone to come and say, "Don't worry about it, it's nothing", doesn't help us at all. The pressure builds up... Continue Reading →

Here we are, a week after Easter. Cyclone Cook came and, for the most part, didn't really amount to anything. It was really interesting. The weather people and the media were talking 'catastrophe' and 'unprecedented' etc . And people listened... Continue Reading →

Life is a series of decisions from beginning to end. We are making choices, either consciously or unconsciously, every second of every day. Most of these fundamental choices like breathing, pumping blood or digesting food are totally automatic, and we are amazingly good at them. What is interesting, is that we are surprisingly bad...
