Most of you would have seen the debacle at the US women's tennis final. Now I don't know much about tennis, so I don't know if the umpire was right with the decisions that he made. We also don't know if Serena Williams would have won the match had she not been penalised. But what I do know that her on court actions had an effect on the winner. This was the biggest match that Naomi Osaka had played against one of the best tennis players. What should have been a joyous occasion for her was spoiled by the booing from the crowd not to mention the tantrums from Serena. The moment has been lost for ever and cannot be repeated.
What we say and do has a profound effect on people both positive and negative.
James 3; 17 says. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
1 Thessalonians 5:11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Both these verses tell us how we should be living our lives day to day. Be encouraging, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy, impartial and sincere. Most of all ask God that he will give you the wisdom to encourage and build people up.
